BP, EP, JP Grade
140 proof ethanol, or ethanol 70% , is a medical grade alcohol. Our 140 proof ethanol is made by fermenting sugarcane molasses, grain, rice or sugar beet. After fermentation, the ethanol is distilled and rectified to 70% alcohol content. As a bulk supplier of ethanol, Sasma offers various bulk packaging options of this 140 proof ethyl alcohol.
What are the uses of ethanol 70%?
The uses of 140 proof ehtanol include the production of pharmaceuticals and the production of disinfectants. Ethanol 70% is a widely used aseptic for laboratory settings; the comparatively lower alcohol content esnures that the ethanol does not evaporate instantly and thereby disinfects work spaces more thoroughly. This kosher alcohol acts as a solvent or reagent in laboratory use, and is also commonly used for cleaning surfaces or making tinctures. Lastly, this ethyl alcohol is used to dissolve water-insoluble medication.

To meet the pharmaceutical and medical industry quality requirements our 140 proof ethanol complies with United States Pharmacopeia (USP), British Pharmacopeia (BP), Japanese Pharmacopeia (JP) and European Pharmacopeia (EP) standards. It is also GMO free and is produced at a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified site in accordance with GMP conditions. Ethanol 70 has the UN1170 code for transport.
