Single Malt Whisky in bulk
Single Malt Whisky is a premium alcohol valued for its rich flavor and depth. To be considered single malt, production standards require 100% malted barley, three years or more of maturing in oak casks–imparting over 60% of flavor–and production in a single distillery.
At Sasma, we offer a wide range of whiskies ready to bottle, from 1000 litre IBC to tankers. We offer single malt whiskies from different origins.
What Characterizes Single Malt Whisky?
Two key factors contributing to the flavorful whisky are the distillery’s location and production. Although single malt is most commonly associated with Scotland (Scotch Whisky), there’s a common misconception that other countries can’t produce the spirit. In addition to Scotch, Sasma also offers European single malt from distilleries with a distinct style and approach to production, resulting in a vast range of single malt whiskies.
Single malt starts with malting barley, mashing what’s extracted, and fermenting the concentrate into a wash. Before the spirit matures in oak casks, the wash is distilled in a single pot, giving it a classic smooth, smokey, and vanilla aroma.
The spirit evolves as it ages; however, climate change has considerably affected whisky production. Whisky matures faster in warmer climates than cooler. As a result, single malt whiskies from different parts of Europe, for example, can have noticeably varied flavor profiles.

Single Malt Whisky is distinguished from Blended Whisky, Blended Malt Whisky, and Single Grain Whisky by classifications and rules. It boils down to distillation and the grains used.
- Single Malt: This whisky is made at one distillery with the base ingredient of malted barley.
- Single Grain Whisky: This spirit is produced at one distillery with the base ingredients of more than one grain (ex, corn, wheat).
- Blended Whisky: The term “blend” refers to combining two or more single malts from different distilleries. Blended whiskies have a base of malted barley and grain.
