Sasma’s Single Malt Whisky in bulk
Single Malt Whisky is a type of Scotch whisky made from 100% malted barley, distilled in a single distillery in pot stills and aged for at least three years in oak casks. It is known for its unique flavor profile that is derived from the type of barley used, the water source, the distillation process, and the aging process.
Single malt whisky has two key defining factors – it must be made from malted barley and it must be made in one single distillery – hence the name.
Typically this type of whisky is from Scotland in addition to other countries, namely within Europe.
Single malt whisky is produced the same as all other types of whisky by malting, mashing, fermentation, distillation, maturation and bottling.
How does Single Malt whisky compare to other types of whiskies
Single Malt Whisky: A blend of malt whiskeys produced at one distillery from malted barley.
Blended Whisky: A blend of malted barley and grain whiskies from various distilleries.
Blended Malt Whisky: A blend of malted whiskies produced at various distilleries (it does not include grain whiskeys).
Single Grain Whisky: Whisky produced from more than one grain, including barley, corn, or wheat, at one distillery.
Single malt whisky is considered to be a premium product and is appreciated for its complexity and depth of flavor.
