What is Tequila?
Tequila is made from the blue agave plant, which is native to hot and arid regions in Mexico. The agave plants are chopped up, and cooked so their taste transforms from starchy to sweet. The agave water is then fermented and distilled, resulting in tequila as the final product. There are two main types of tequila: 100% blue agave tequila and tequila mixto. The tequila mixto contains a minimum of 51% agave.
An increase in demand for Tequila
Tequila has been around since the 16th century, but is still very popular today. It is often added to cocktails to give them a fuller body or of course consumed straight. Technavio’s analysts forecast the global tequila market to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 3.61% during the time period of 2017-2021.
Tequila Mixto Silver
This tequila has silver, even slightly blue highlights and a great body. This tequila silver has an intense and powerful fragrance. The cooked agave is expressed in its entirety, capped by delicate herbal tones such as mint, eucalyptus, hints of fruit and a mild buttery note result in an aromatically elegant harmony.
Tequila Mixto Gold
This tequila gold is bright and clear with a faint amber colour. It has silver and orange highlights and a great body. It’s fragrance shows hints of cooked and raw agave, caramel tones, citric and herbal aromas. Its herbal origins are confirmed in its taste with a sweet finish. Our tequila gold is slightly spicy, more so in the nose than in the palate.
Tequila Reposado 100% Agave
Our tequila reposado has a straw-yellow gold color with silver and gold hues. Its fragrance reflects its herbal personality with mint, raw agave, and hints of grass. This tequila reposado has a slight olive taste, while the subtle cooked agave aroma recalls spicy notes coupled with delicate vanilla and caramel aromas. This tequila is well-balanced for the palate.
