Cachaça
Cachaça is the Brazilian equivalent to the sugar-cane spirit or the South African cane spirit. Aguardente is the distillate made from the fermentation of sugarcane juice, with an alcohol content of between 38 and 54%.
Cachaça, on the other hand, is distilled from sugarcane juice, with an alcohol content of between 38 and 48%.
So, every cachaça is an aguardiente but not every aguardiente is cachaça.
