At Sasma, giving back is part of how we operate as a business. As a family-owned company with two decades of trading relationships across Africa, Latin America, Europe, and beyond, we have seen firsthand the challenges that many communities face. Our charitable partnerships reflect a long-term commitment to education, opportunity, and humanitarian support — not one-off donations, but sustained relationships with organisations whose work we believe in.
Current Charity Partners
Edukans
Sasma has entered a multi-year partnership with Edukans, a Dutch non-profit dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality education for children and young people in Africa. Edukans operates programmes in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, and Uganda, working to create safe and effective learning environments and equip young people with the skills they need for employment and a sustainable future.
Sasma has been doing business in Africa for nearly two decades. Through our long-standing relationships across the region, we have seen directly how limited access to education affects communities and economies. The Edukans partnership is a natural extension of that experience — and of our belief that education is the foundation for lasting change.
Through this partnership, Sasma supports initiatives that improve access to quality education in underserved communities, provide vocational training for young people, and strengthen school infrastructure across the four countries where Edukans operates.
Providencia Centro de Formación Integral
For the third consecutive year, Sasma is partnering with Providencia Centro de Formación Integral in Colombia to support children and families who cannot afford schooling. For nearly 60 years, Providencia has provided high-quality education to children and adolescents from low-income families, creating opportunities and meaningful change for thousands of young people in the region.
For the 2024/2025 school year, Sasma is sponsoring the education of 16 children, with a focus on English language proficiency, computational thinking, and skills development including teamwork, leadership, communication, and emotional regulation.
We are proud to support an organisation with such deep roots in its community and such a clear commitment to long-term impact.
CRS Partnership
WoodYouCare
Sasma partners with WoodYouCare as part of our ongoing corporate social responsibility commitments. WoodYouCare is a reforestation initiative dedicated to planting trees in regions where climate change has caused the greatest environmental damage.
Through this partnership, a portion of Sasma’s sales contributes to the Sasma forest — supporting local ecosystems, reducing CO₂ emissions, and creating employment for local communities. To date, Sasma’s forests have grown to more than 4,500 trees across Brazil, Indonesia, and Kenya, contributing to local livelihoods and the reduction of approximately 90 tonnes of CO₂.

Transportation in Ukraine
In 2024, Sasma partnered with a customer to fund the purchase of a bus providing essential goods transportation within Ukraine. In a country navigating extraordinary hardship, reliable logistics for food, supplies, and humanitarian goods makes a direct difference to people's lives.
Water for Life
In 2023, Sasma made a donation to Water for Life, a Dutch organisation that provides clean water infrastructure and training to low-income communities around the world. Clean water is fundamental to health, sanitation, and human dignity — and its absence is something Sasma's team has witnessed directly through our global trading relationships. Water for Life collaborates with Dutch water companies to deliver infrastructure and expertise to communities that need it most.
Prinses Máxima Centrum Foundation
Sasma has supported the Prinses Máxima Centrum Foundation, the only European centre among a small group of five dedicated paediatric oncology research centres in the world. The foundation's mission is to cure every child with cancer while maintaining the best possible quality of life. As a family-owned business, supporting families facing the most difficult circumstances is something that resonates deeply with us.
Doctors Without Borders
In response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, Sasma made a donation to Doctors Without Borders (Artsen zonder Grenzen), supporting the provision of emergency medical care to people in distress.
The Ocean Cleanup
Sasma supported The Ocean Cleanup, a Dutch non-profit founded in 2013 with the mission of removing 90% of floating ocean plastic by 2040. As a Dutch company operating globally, we felt a strong connection to an organisation making a measurable impact on the health of the world's oceans and waterways.
Ombir Foundation
Sasma supported the Ombir Foundation, a foster home in Nepal providing shelter, food, education, and a safe and loving environment for children in need.
Support Casper
Sasma supported the Support Casper campaign, which funds scientific research into viro-immunotherapy as a treatment for pancreatic cancer — one of the most underfunded and difficult-to-treat cancers.
Trees for All
Sasma supported Trees for All, a Dutch foundation that plants and protects forests in the Netherlands and internationally, contributing to carbon offsetting, biodiversity, and improved living conditions for local communities.
