What is industrial grade alcohol?
Industrial grade alcohol is denatured ethanol — ethanol to which approved denaturants have been added, rendering it unfit for human consumption. This allows industrial buyers to benefit from reduced excise duties while retaining the solvent, cleaning, and disinfectant properties of high-purity ethanol.
Our Industrial Grade Alcohol Range
Denatured Ethanol 95% (190 Proof)
Denatured Ethanol 96% (192 Proof)
Denatured Ethanol 99.9% (200 Proof)
Applications
Industrial grade alcohol is used across the following applications:
- Surface & equipment cleaning — an effective solvent for cleaning industrial surfaces, equipment, and machinery
- Disinfectants & sanitisers — a primary ingredient in industrial disinfectants and sanitation products
- Paints & coatings — a solvent in the paints and coatings industry, supporting smooth application and fast drying
- Aerosol products — used in aerosol formulations to ensure consistent spray quality and product stability
- Washer fluids — used in vehicle windscreen washer fluid formulations
- Electronics cleaning — high-purity grades suited to cleaning circuit boards and sensitive electronic components
