Whisky

From Bourbon whiskey to malted rye

Whisky is a distilled spirit that is made from fermented grain mash. Ingredients, ageing and legal regulations come together to create a vast array of whisky types and classes. As a whisky supplier, we offer bulk whisky in 24,000-26,000 litre ISO tanks and 200 litre HDPE drums.

What is whisky… and what is whiskey?

Whisky or whiskey is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Besides ingredients and ageing, the different varieties emerge from different places of production. Whisky is spelled without the “e” if it is Scotch whisky, made in Scotland. This is also Canada’s spelling of whisky. Whiskey with the “e”, on the other hand, may be produced in Ireland or the US for instance such as bourbon whiskey. The typical unifying characteristics of the different whisky classes and types are the fermentation of grains, distillation, and ageing in wooden barrels.

Whisky: quality in drinking worldwide

Whisky is a strictly regulated spirit worldwide with many classes and types. Whiskies differ in their base product, alcohol content and quality. Grains that can produce whisky include corn, wheat, barley, malted barley, rye and malted rye. Malt whisky is made primarily from malted barley, while grain whisky is made from any type of grain. Most whiskies are sold at or near an alcoholic strength of 40% abv, which is the statutory minimum in some countries. However, strength can vary, with cask-strength whisky possibly having as much as twice that alcohol percentage. Each whisky type has certain characteristics that made it acquire its fame and reputation. As a whisky supplier, we offer tastes that cater to every palette and provide flavours that can range from light and sweet to smoky and spicy.
