Extra Neutral Alcohol
Extra Neutral alcohol (ENA) is the most pure version of any alcohol. Extra neutral alcohols are made from different (raw) materials such as sugarcane molasses or grains (Grain Neutral Spirit) examples of grains include corn, rye, wheat, barley and rice. It is organoleptically neutral – it has no taste or smell. Extra neutral alcohol can be used for a variety of applications – its primary use is as a base for spirits and alcoholic beverages. ENA is used within the food and beverage industry; in the cosmetics and beauty industry, and for pharmaceutical and medical grade purposes. Currently the most popular application has been to make hand sanitizer.
